Programs
AbilityQuest offers 2 types of programs, social and educational. Each of these types of programs inherently provides an aspect of one another in each of them. Our philosophy behind the programs we offer is that we as human beings grow as people and enhance our lives through the experiences we have, the friends that we make, and the knowledge we gain.
Social Program
Our social program consists of a variety of social settings designed to increase the social circle and socialization opportunities of our members. The activities we offer range from dinners out to lunch at the AbilityQuest office where members are free to play games on the Wii, utilize the various board games or just simply sit around and talk. Some our other social offerings include bowling, going to a Braves game, or catching a movie. In the spring and summer, we will begin offering a book and movie club, as well as a bowling league.
Educational Program
The educational program will begin in late spring, early summer. The educational program offerings will include 1 day workshops and 4 week online courses. The topics offered will be vast, including topics such as Social Security benefits, scrapbooking, troubleshooting a computer, disability history, and the list goes on. Watch the website and our newsletter for topic offerings and dates.
Cost
Our programs are offered year-round. The majority of our social and educational offerings are free to our members. However, some programs will have a nominal fee associated with them depending on the activity and current funding.
